iPhone 18 Pro on EMI: What It Really Costs

By Pradipta Ray · Published

Apple India lists the iPhone 18 Pro from Rs 1,64,900. At that price the difference between a six-month no-cost plan and a two-year card EMI is not a rounding error - it is a meaningful amount of money.

Apple India lists the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max together from Rs 1,64,900, checked on 23 September 2026, and advertises up to six months of No Cost EMI with eligible cards. That starting price is for the base storage variant; higher tiers cost more.

What the tenure choice costs

Here is the full listed price financed at 0% against a card EMI at 16%, across the tenures issuers commonly offer.

A ₹1,64,900 purchase: instalments at 0% against a card EMI at 16%.
TenureEMI at 0%EMI at 16%Interest
6 months₹27,483₹28,780₹7,780
12 months₹13,741₹14,962₹14,638
18 months₹9,161₹10,365₹21,671
24 months₹6,870₹8,074₹28,876
36 months₹4,580₹5,797₹43,810
A ₹1,64,900 purchase: instalments at 0% against a card EMI at 16%.

The six-month no-cost instalment is large - that is the trade-off for the offer being genuinely free. Stretching to twenty-four or thirty-six months brings the monthly figure down to something comfortable, and the interest column shows what that comfort costs.

Trade-in is the cheapest money in the deal

Apple Trade In credits the value of an old device against the purchase, which reduces the amount financed before any interest is calculated. So does a straightforward cash sale to an independent buyer, used as a down payment.

A ₹1,64,900 purchase at 16% over 2 years, at different down payments.

Every rupee of trade-in removes a rupee of financed principal and the interest it would have carried. This is covered more generally in how a down payment changes your phone EMI.

The order of operations that saves the most

  1. Trade in the old device first. It costs nothing and reduces the financed amount directly.

  2. Then the down payment, as far as your emergency fund allows.

  3. Then the rate. A genuine 0% offer beats any tenure arithmetic.

  4. Tenure last. Adding months is the least efficient way to make the instalment affordable.

At this price the processing fee is close to irrelevant - a few hundred rupees against a financed amount above a lakh. Two percentage points of rate over twenty-four months is not. Compare offers on the rate.

What is not in the instalment

  • GST on card EMI interest and on the processing fee, billed separately to the card. The Credit Card EMI Calculator shows it as its own line.

  • AppleCare or any extended cover, unless it is on the same financed invoice.

  • Cashback, which arrives after purchase and reduces your effective cost rather than the instalment.

Before you buy

Check the price for your exact storage variant at checkout rather than the headline starting price, confirm which cards the no-cost offer covers and for how many months, and ask what the processing fee is. Then put the real numbers into the calculator - the figures above use the listed starting price, and yours will differ.

For other models, the iPhone EMI Calculator works at any price, and the iPhone 18 Pro Max page carries its own higher starting figure.

Frequently asked questions

How much is the iPhone 18 Pro in India?
Apple India lists the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max together from Rs 1,64,900, checked on 23 September 2026. That is the base storage variant; higher storage costs more.
Is no-cost EMI available on the iPhone 18 Pro?
Apple India advertises up to six months of No Cost EMI with eligible cards. Longer tenures generally revert to the card issuer's standard EMI rate.
Is a 24-month EMI on an iPhone worth it?
Only if the rate is genuinely 0%. At a card EMI rate you pay interest for two years on a balance above a lakh, on a device many people replace within three.
Does trade-in reduce the EMI?
Yes. Trade-in value is deducted from the price before financing, so it reduces both the instalment and the interest.
